I am happy to announce that I have done my best today.
Now, what that actually amounts to, I’m not sure.
A quick shout out to NEPA for recognizing that the world is going through an environmental crisis and Nigeria seems to be taking it personal. I could argue that their mates in other countries are keeping the power on past 6am but I said I’ll be all about that bright side in 2024. lol
Anyway, I had to face my plans in the sweltering heat. I set out to write an article today. The plan was to be done by the end of day. Considering the topic and the amount of research I knew I would have to do, I think I might have inhaled some second hand smoke on the way home before setting that goal.
The search rolled out a long list of blogs. Work began…for 30 minutes. My mum came into my room. I have missed mindlessly chatting with her; it’s always a meandering conversation, the kind that has no guarantee that you will finish what you started out saying.
I relished it. And two hours later I was wondering what we had talked about that took so long as I returned to the google page. A few montages later, some lunch and a snack later I was more confused about the topic than when I started out.
One day I will reflect on what I learned from the past 10 weeks but for now, I would say it made me realize that reading was NOT enough for me to learn things, I needed to be taught/told. I’m the type to go for a Youtube before slinking over to chrome when I don’t find what I need. Trying to build the reading muscle, I chose to google it first but finally, I landed in the inbox of tech bros in my life for clarification and unbefuddling.
At the end of the day I am proud to state that it’s now 580 unedited words.
Fingers crossed for a more productive tomorrow.
Thank you for reading.
From,
~Naomi
